This compact garden on Lavelle Road, Bangalore, was designed for a client undertaking a quiet renovation and upgrade of their home and garden. The architect divided the garden into two distinct spaces. At the entrance, a Zen-inspired garden uses the dark compound walls to create an illusion of greater space. Native rocks, gravel, and a selection of minimalist, elegant plants bring a sense of calm and simplicity, reflecting a Japanese aesthetic.

The second space is a more private retreat, intended for the clients’ personal use. Here, a mix of tropical foliage surrounds a central lawn, creating the feeling of being immersed in a lush, tropical paradise—an unexpected escape in the heart of a bustling metropolitan city.
